Flowers for the Frist Center

A few weeks ago I got a call about some flowers.  Flowers for a UBS event at the Frist Center in Nashville.  The event was centered around The Birth of Impressionism, Masterpieces from the Musée d’Orsay exhibit which runs through this weekend.

The first thing that came to mind for me was something like this Renoir.
However, I was going for something a little more modern and transportable and this is what I did.
The event planner had terra cotta linens.

Sunflowers would have made these amazing, but I love them just the same!

A sweet baby girl was born to two very excited parents at 4:47 p.m. on August 7, 2010.

Before baby was born, there was a grand celebration!

Special invitations for a special occasion.  Handmade by yours truly.

The lovely Loose Cannon Gallery.

Terrariums with ferns and sweet potato vines in plantable coconut coir pots.
Biodegradable (and reusable) bamboo plates as chargers.

 Butterflies!

Wedding Recap: Rachel and Jordan, May 15, 2010

Rachel and Jordan were so much fun to work with and had such wonderful ideas that really captured who they are as a couple.
Imago Photography captured the day so perfectly.  I'm so happy to share Imago's pictures with you (I am a TERRIBLE photographer).
Enjoy!

 Chucks!

 My favorite bouquet so far!

 Such a classic bride.

Outside First Centenary United Methodist Church.  I love the modern look of the church in contrast to Rachel's traditional style.

At the reception, guests were treated to a photo booth by Image Cinema that doubled as the guest book and favors.  One of these guys happens to belong to me!

The cakes were amazing and delicious thanks to Cup-a-Dee Cakes.

The groom's cake was actually a huge blueberry muffin.

Darling cake topper by etsy superstar, Hildoom.  Custom guitar pick favors...Rachel met Jordan when he was in a band and he used guitar lessons as a way to get to know her better.

This picture was my handy work.  I just love the Walden Club's chandelier.
Lovely!

Guests danced well into the night.  Rachel and Jordan had such a wonderful time that they abandoned their grand exit to enjoy their reception until the last guests departed!

Deep Fur-eeze

Overnight, Chattanooga has become quite the winter wonderland. Between gazing out the window and playing in the snow, I spent the afternoon working on a few new wedding accessories. My must have accessory for the winter wedding is fur! Oh how I would love a fur capelet!

Even if it's not a winter wonderland for you wedding, what a luxe addition to your festive finery.

Little after party dress? Still white hot!

So many options....real, faux, dark, light, long, short....

Oscar de la Renta was feeling fur for Fall 2010.

The ever fab Victoria Beckham wears her fur like a lady...and a rock star.
I love that Mrs. B carries her Birkin bag with both looks.

This is my personal favorite. It has pockets!

There are beautiful faux furs available in all price ranges. If there is not a vintage fur floating around your family then ebay is your friend.
And if fur is not your thing then I suggest velvet with a lovely satin lining in a fun color!
